What exactly does the noise calculation tool do?

The standards for STI calculation (DIN VDE 0833-4:2024-06; DIN EN IEC 60268-16:2021-10) require the consideration of noise levels in alarm situations. These functions are included in the new ULYSSES 2.90 / PAUL 1.07 software.

The safest and most recommended method is always a representative measurement of the noise levels in or at the property.

Depending on the situation, surcharges or deductions for the alarm case may need to be applied to the measurement results.

But how do you obtain noise levels (in octave bands) if no measurement results are available or measurements cannot be performed, for example during the planning of a new building or conversion?

And how loud does it get when 25 people are talking or shouting in a room, or when the sound power level of a machine has to be taken into account?
