Noise Calculation Tool for the ULYSSES 2.90/PAUL 1.07 Software
What exactly does the Noise Calculation Tool do?
The standards for STI calculation (DIN VDE 0833-4:2024-06; DIN EN IEC 60268-16:2021-10, or CEN/TS 54-32:2015) include the consideration of noise levels during an alarm or evac event.
These features are already integrated into the new ULYSSES 2.90/PAUL 1.07 software.
The safest and most recommended method is always a representative measurement of the noise levels in the object itself.
Depending on the situation, additional adjustments —either positive or negative— may be applied to the measured values for the specific alarm condition.
How can you obtain noise levels (in octave bands) if no measurements are available or if measurements cannot be taken, for example during planning of new buildings or renovations?
And how loud will it be when 25 people are talking or shouting in a room, or when the sound power level of a machine needs to be considered?
Noise Calculation Tool for ULYSSES 2.90/PAUL 1.07
Our tool is designed exactly for this purpose: it calculates noise levels caused by speaking people or by machines operating during an alarm or evac event.
The resulting noise levels can then be used in the STI calculation with the ULYSSES 2.90/PAUL 1.07 software exactly as specified in the standards.
